As a young mom, you probably know a young mother with a critically or chronically ill child. Like most people watching the family struggle, you would like to help, but aren’t sure what to do. Perhaps my presentation, Ten Things Friends Can do for Parents of Really Sick Kids, could help you and the other members of your MOPS group move your heartfelt compassion into practical action.
Some of the suggestions I share come from my personal experience as the parent of a child who was born with a life-threatening birth defect that required years of corrective surgery and procedures. Others were gleaned from parents I interviewed while conducting research for my book, A Different Dream for My Child: Meditations for Parents of Critically or Chronically Ill Children, which will be released by Discovery House Publishers in the fall of 2009.
If my presentation is of interest to your group during the 2008-09 or 2009-10 MOPS calendar year, please let me know. More information about my freelance writing and speaking is available at my website, http://www.jolenephilo.com. You can reach me via the website email or the contact information listed below.
